Even more pug news

Even more pug news, this morning I milled the lead weight to enable a chip to be fitted into the boiler. Not the easiest material to mill fine cuts and paraffin to lubricate its job done. The first fit looks good but I need to wait for the replacement chassis to arrive before I can do the final assembly. I guess that will be next weekend.

More pug news

More pug news picked up a Hornby Pug on fleabay in need of a lot of TLC nay a total strip and rebuild she was in LMS colours.

 

Now after a strip down I discovered she was abused at some time and her chassis has a chunk ripped out where someone never remove the final screw!

 

Not to much of a big deal a replacement was commissioned from a nice man on fleabay. Now her body has been sprayed with white undercoat she is a little more presentable .

 

 

 I am considering repainting into a private colour scheme and naming her “Linda”. Hey Alan have you got a quote for your 94 plates yet? Remind me who are you asking for the quote? Elf and Safety

The Children in need air show Rained off for me although it did go ahead.  Today I had a little play weathering the pug! Its parked on the programming track which when it not used for programming is the site of the camping coach the pug is a children’s play thing. Elf and safety not on my watch!

J94 chipping

I ordered a spare set of weights for a J94 from Peters spares in the internet and did the required mod to remove the hump. As all went to plan I dismantled 68080 ready for chipping and modded that weight as the mill was set up already. I intend to use the Hatton’s MD4 chip as this is one of the smaller 4 function chips it will fit no problem. That’s all for this bank holiday some household chores and tomorrow it the Children in need air show.

 

Disappointed

Late last week I took delivery of my shiny new Gaugemaster Prodigy Advance 2, having difficulty in reading the data from my existing locos. I bought 2 of Hatton’s own brand 4 function chips. Which by the way are the same size and specification to the DCC Concepts TS2SAP and Gaugemaster DCC26 I don’t know who makes them but the work ok out of the box. Unfortunately I cannot reprogram them ether, my Prodigy Advance 2 seems to have a fault on the programming port. That’s now back to Hatton’s for a replacement. The bridge was put on hold whilst I played with my new toy alas I was bitterly disappointed, so its back to bridge building watch this space!

The road bridge part 2

One week on and the basic bridge structure is complete, some final tweaking to get the fit right on the board. The clearance is ok for the coaching stock. I now have a decision to make on the colour of the plates, I have a hankering for cream with maroon lining.
