Today I finished chipping two locomotives my
pug and 68080 my J94. Not much else to say really a few tweaks required on the
CV’s and those crappy switches under the points need adjusting again!

The Champagne flowed freely!
Today is a milestone in the restoration of
our L&YR pug. SWMBO performed the naming of the locomotive. Her ladyship declined
to be photographed standing next to the locomotive muttering something on the
line ‘too big’. Later her ladyship said, I can hardly read that,’ its too small’.
Tonight we will enjoy a celebratory curry and a can of lager.

Bolt!
Progress is not as quick as the man, but the
chassis is bolted up and connecting rods fitted still need more touched up!

Overcoat
Second coat on the body, a few little bits to
touch up around the cab and cab roof. The first coat on the buffer beams. I do
think paint manufacturers make their paint thinner now! Red used to cover quite
well back in the day.

Today started off badly
Today started off badly I was awake on
and off most of the night when I arrived at work I was feeling really ill
blinding headache. Anyway I went back home to sleep it off and I must say I
feel 100% better for it. I though that while Linda was watching the
“soaps" this evening I would sort the pugs derrière, here are the results.

The final screw!
My scrapper arrived
from fleabay today, I’m not disappointed although, after a
strip down I discovered she was also abused at some time as her chassis has a
chunk ripped out where someone never remove the final screw! And her rear end
has been mutilated, again heavy wear on the nylon axel gear. Plus points
working motor with brass worm and an intact motor mount coupling rods and bolts
hand rails and handrail knobs.
An enjoyable 2 hours spent fabrication a new cab I knew that old Dapol roof would come in handy.
