Back home after
a short break “Up North” the weather was rather inclement rain snow and blizzards.
The main reason for our trudge north of Biggleswade was to celebrate my daughters
40th birthday. While we were there I had an invite form one of my
old army chums who I served with when we defended the country from the threat
of Soviet invasion in the mid ‘60’s. Alan invited us to stop off for a spot of
lunch during our trip back south. So not to miss a free lunch (only joking) we
headed for South Kirkby to meet up with Alan & Linda. I had the opportunity
to photograph Alan’s railway layouts. Thanks you your hospitality and don’t forget
your both welcome to come and stop over “Darn Sarff”.

New Toy
My new toy arrived today and what a stunner
absolutely mint and with all the parts for the high bunker and stoker chimney
instructions included. She looks as if she has only been test run the tyres
have very slight discolouration hardly run I would say. I have not tested her
yet but I am confidant she is in fine fettle. and at a bargain price of £25.50 delivered

Fire
When
I arrive to do some more work on the pug I found the tool shed had been vandalized by the local Chavs
nothing is safe form the yobs fortunately the fire was not to severe but considerable
damage had been done at one end.
Not bad for a couple of hours work. I need some green paint to run down the joints between the boards and darken the underside

Rust In Peace
A little more
rust this time with a touch of red added highlighting the rotten parts.
Next stage a little grey
and gunmetal dry brushed I think.

Unloved!
OK
now that the weather is on the mend it time to see how my LYR Pug has
faired. If you remember she was bought with the intention of motorising, as per
normal my plans changed and I bought a High Level chassis for the
Hornby/Dapol LYR Pug and a body and cylinder assembly from Hornby spares. Well the
Dapol LYR Pug kit went into the storage siding with the intention of rebuilding
when time allowed. Alas the winter weather has
not been kind the old girl and severe deterioration has set in.
