Western Hills MPD fabrication shop
Inspired by a recent article
in “model rail” here is my take on the building. Which once was the old
weighbridge and parcels office; Pix Valley are utilising the building as a
fabrication shop. A bit more work on the barge boards and guttering. Lights and
special effects to be added later.

Western Hills MPD update
A little more work on
the surrounding area of western Hills MPD. I need some workshop paraphernalia
to place around to give it some atmosphere, possibly an out building with an
arc welder going full chat.

Essential track maintenance
Yesterday I removed the section of
baseboard with the sticky turnout, glad I made my layout in 4 foot sections!
The fault was down to a sliver if wood where the actuation rod passed through the board it was acting like a spring.
I do like these slow acting motors from DCC concepts
The opportunity arose to add some more ground work in siding and approach road.
Oh and the stencils from www.modelrailwayscenery.com.

My new J94
My latest J94 I was considering a
conversion as “Brussels” or a Lambton cab as it only cost me £37 on Ebay. It
turns out to be mint apart from some dust shame to convert it, having said that
I have not tested it on the rolling road yet but it will have to be dismantled
to chip it.
Tested on the rolling road runs smooth, chipped it today running quite sweet. But I have a sticky turnout jams halfway on the throw guess it means
removing that section baseboard and sorting it out.
