The latest arrival on Pix Valley is a Drummond 700 “Black
motor” 30698. A superb model but with a couple of quirks, both the couplings
fall off the chassis the triangular moulding on the NEM housing is to narrow
and the other issue is fitting a DCC chip into the tender there is not enough
room with the three weights . Anybody had the same issues? I opted for the recommended
small 8pin chip from Hattons.
Looks a nice loco...I'm sure you will sort out the quirks...

DeleteYes remove two of the weights, a spot of superglue on the couplings. Tested last Wednesday on the club layout with a short rake of LMS coaches (3) no issues with the lighter tender. I guess I could remove the moulded coal load and use Liquid Gravity from Deluxe Materials and cover with real coal. As it is it runs ok.
